What is ESD Platform WILL?
WILL, a youth organization promotes "Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)" with a diverse group of people and organizations. We aim to create a society where everyone can be involved and realize "sustainable development (SD)". WILL members, while taking action on their own, seek to find methods of multi-layered and pluralistic "encounters" and "connections" between people in society.
Work
WILL focuses on WORK (volunteer work, workshops, work camps).
Volunteer Work
Isn't a volunteer a social device that easily crosses the boundaries of each specialty? Through volunteering, we become aware of various problems and know the ideals pursued in the fields. What kind of volunteers will make you aware of what social problems?
Workshops
There are various methods that allow participants to loosely connect with each other and establish their own independence. We develop the methods based on each period the concrete circumstances (time, place, person, purpose and environment) and consider their meanings and effects.
Voluntary Workcamps
We focus on Workcamps as the place where people are not good at interacting with people and putting themselves in a group can have a little confidence and reconsider what they thought to be natural. Workcamps may teach us the importance of face-to-face holistic and physical relationships with human and other beings, land, water, air, nature, etc.
Inclusion
Participants who are taking action are not the only members of WILL. We promote ESD with multi-stakeholders.
Moreover, “Everyone is the Protagonist” in WILL. Each member is different, from those with disabilities, those of differing nationalities, ages, etc. We promote the creation of an ”Inclusive Community” that is not stagnant, but actively changes and is accepting of its varying members.
Life & Love
Through WORK we are exposed to varying values and belief systems, compelling us to observe our own lifestyle. We create a platform that encourages encounters and connections, thus leading to a sustainable society, that values all different kinds of INOCHI.
*INOCHI: Japanese pluriversal notion; lives, soul, spirit, existence of people, animals, plants and so on.

社会的に分断されている人々がともに未来を見つめた社会づくりの担い手になるには、どのような場や仕掛けが必要なのでしょうか？
利害が対立している人たちが、互いの立場や歴史を理解しつつ、未来に向けて問題を解決するような一歩、出会いが生まれるには、どのような場や仕掛けが必要なのでしょうか？
特定の領域で専門性を究めようとしている人たちが、互いを尊重し、力を合わせるには、どのような場や仕掛けが必要なのでしょうか？
あらゆる人々の活動の中で、社会構造の変化、ライフスタイルの変化を生んでいくには、どのような場や仕掛けが必要なのでしょうか？
At WILL, We are thinking about these questions,
creating multiple practical hypotheses, and working
to create a place for "encounters" and "connections"
toward the creation of a "sustainable society.
The relation between ESD and WILL
ESDとWILL
ESDのEは、一般には、Educationの頭文字ですが、EmpowermentのE、EnhancementのE、あるいは、EncounterのEともいえます。WILLは、狭い意味の教育ではなく、今、まさにここで力を発揮する環境や仕組み、また、偶発的な学びを生み出す出会い方に注目します。広い意味での教育を考え、生み出そうとするプロジェクトです。
SDGsとWILL
ESDはE for SD(Education for Sustainable Development)のことですが、EとSDの関係は、常に考え続けなければいけません。SDの活動の中にEがあり、Eを通してSDが生まれる、ということもあるのではないでしょうか。EとSDの相互的かつ一体的な関係を問いながら、SDGs（持続可能な開発目標）とESDの関係を問うていくことも、WILLの目的です。与えられた目標をただ受け入れるのではなく、それが私たちの目標として適切であるかどうかも考え続けていきます。

みかん畑管理ワーク

昨年度2月4日に行ったつどいの広場にあるすだちの木の柵づくりの続きの作業を行います。つどいの広場づくりを含め、入居者の方々に対して私たちは何ができるのか、長島の土地に触れながら考えたいと思います。
第2回寄り合い茶会

農村レジリエンスルームと居場所づくりルームが主催で行うオープンミーティングです。今回の寄り合い茶会ではポスター作りを通して、活動の振り返りや理解を深めます。どなたも参加大歓迎です！
Recruitment
We welcome people who are interested in social issues, people who are interested in volunteering, people who like to collaborate with others. We ALSO welcome people who are not good at interacting with people, people who hesitate to express themselves in the public. Various people will make the most of their unique characteristics in their activities. Everyone can be the protagonist. There are wide variety of people with different personalities in WILL.
Quarterly WILL
WILL publishes three magazines a year, "WILL Quarterly"
The quarterly is led by the editorial board of WILL, and its unique members write activity reports and columns.
